Amazon’s New Payment Gateway Paypal Competitor?

On July 29, 2008, Amazon implemented a new, online payment processing service that could eventually become a serious rival for eBay owned Paypal.
Amazon’s new service is called ‘Checkout.’ Simple and to the point! And VERY user friendly.
Customers who are already registered with Amazon will not have to re-register in order to use the service.
Sites which adopt the service will be able to use details such as billing and address information that their customers have already logged with Amazon. They will also be able to offer the same ‘one-click purchase’ as Amazon, as well as other Amazon features, such as order tracking, etc.
